Delegations from Bhutan, Afghanistan and Pakistan were prime attraction for the festival who highlighted the need for dissolving boundaries between South Asian countries. “Indian cinema is seen almost every where in South Asia. But we do not show their cinema in our theatres. Bhutanese delegation comprising country’’s first ever woman director Karma Deki, was unhappy with the response to the festival. “I am little unhappy with the response. The auditoriums are empty despite the movies being shown free of cost,” Gyaltsen, Bhutanese director, said at one of the seminars during the festival. Except for a minor mishap in which 75-year-old Sri Lankan legendary director Sumithra Pereis slipped on a beach getting minor hurt, the festival went off smooth. SAFF has travelled to Goa three years ago and has declared the state as its permanent destination.
