Posted: 07 Apr 2010 08:43 AM PDT

Contrary to reports that they are not on talking terms, actors Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor apparently 'met' in Goa last Sunday (April 4). Priyanka, who has been shooting in Srinagar for Vishal Bharadwaj's film, decided to take a 'sudden break' on April 4 and headed for a 'beach' vacation with her 'bff' (best friends forever) Tamanna Sharma

On April 3, Shahid had tweeted, "Had 2 very chilled days in goa n some awesome Burmese food if u may headin home tom ready to zone into work."

Meanwhile, Priyanka too headed for a vacation at a 'beach' on April 4. She had tweeted on April 4, "Off for an anonymous holiday with my bff.. Shoot got cancelled for a day!! Yay I love secrets… Bye world!! C ya soon!!"

Just after about two hours she tweeted again, "My best friend @tam04sharma and me sittin by the beach.. Lovely!!!" @tam04sharma is Priyanka's pal, her 'bff' Tamanna Sharma.
Tamanna's tweet on April 4 reads, "Sitting by the beach good food great company. Amazing !"

Before that on April 3 she had tweeted, "Now im on a vacation with my best friend . Relaaaaxing and just chilling …."

Now, the best part: Sources say apparently Shahid and Priyanka did meet up and had a long chat over coffee at Alila Diwa hotel, where both were staying, on the evening of April 4. Alila Diwa is in South Goa and located along the Majorda Beach just 20 minutes from Goa Dabolim International Airport. The hotel staff, on condition of anonymity, revealed that Shahid, Priyanka and Tamanna Sharma were put up in the same hotel.

"The double room was booked against Ms Tamanna Sharma's name," a hotel staffer said. Even Priyanka's spokesperson confirmed that she had taken a quick break to Goa. "Yes, she had taken a break to Goa with her best friend." When asked if she might have bumped into Shahid there, "We don't know the rest," was the reply.

Fiona Mackeown, mother of the British teenager Scarlet Eden Keeling, is willing to be present in Goa court as a witness, her lawyer said.

“Fiona is willing to come to the court. Her testimony would be crucial for the case,” Vikram Varma, Fiona’s lawyer, said. Varma said that he would discuss the appropriate dates with the public prosecutor and will inform his client back in UK to keep herself free for India visit.

The trial in the sensational scarlet death case has began this week with a local policeman constable Gurunath Naik becoming the first witness to depose before the court. Scarlet’s bruised semi-nude corpse was found on Anjuna shore on February 18, 2008 following which two locals - Samson D’Souza and Placido Carvalho, were booked by CBI for drugging, sexually abusing and leaving the teenager to die on the shore.

The prosecution had termed Fiona’s statement in the case as ‘very important.’ “The witness by Fiona is very crucial in this case. We will summon her for the trial. But if she fails to turn up, we can even have her evidence through video conferencing,” S R Rivonkar, CBI counsel, said.

He said that other two foreign witnesses, a Spanish girl Ruby Caso and a Britisher Mike Mannion, will also be asked to depose through video conferencing.

The prosecution in this trial will be producing 72 witnesses, who would be cross examined by the defence lawyers-Ryan Menezes and Peter D’Souza.
